That makes sense for the operations running them. But a lot of farms don’t fit that mold, and a lot of spreading situations call for something smaller, lower, and easier to get into tight spaces. Tractor Matching for the Compact Range

The 1006 and 1008 are 540 PTO machines, which keeps them compatible with utility-class tractors rather than requiring a 1,000 PTO unit. That matters because most smaller operations aren’t running a dedicated tractor for spreading. They’re using the same machine that hauls bales, runs the loader, and pulls tillage implements.
