About Us
Our Story
The History of LEO Agriculture
From a workshop in Southern Africa to a global manufacturer — the story of a family's passion for building machinery that lasts generations.
Spring 1988
Founded in South Africa
LEO Agriculture was founded in the late 1980s by Nico Leonard in Southern Africa. Fueled by a passion for building tougher, more reliable equipment, the company quickly earned a reputation for machinery that could handle the harshest farming conditions.
Early 2000s
Rapid Growth & Market Leadership
Within just a few years, LEO sold over 1,000 machines across Southern Africa. Farmers chose LEO for its heavy-duty construction, efficient designs, and genuine partnership — qualities that still define the brand today.
New Year 2012
US Expansion
The legacy continued when JD Leonard established custom fabrication and distribution in Monroe, Wisconsin, redefining LEO into a modern, globally-oriented approach while preserving the original family engineering values.

TWG Investment & Risk Management joins LEO Agriculture through a major strategic investment, taking the company to new heights. This partnership strengthens our innovation, global reach, and farmer-focused support — all while preserving the same family values and engineering excellence that started it all.
Today we deliver superior components, global shipping ease, and ongoing farmer-focused support — all backed by the same family values that started it all.
LEO Agriculture is a global manufacturer of premium agricultural equipment, dedicated to building reliable, high-performance machinery that empowers farmers and maximizes operational efficiency. With strategically located manufacturing and distribution facilities in Monroe, Wisconsin (USA), Southern Africa, and Southeast Asia, LEO combines world-class engineering with practical, real-world design. Every machine is built for durability, ease of use, and long-term value — engineered to be passed down through generations.
Our Core Values
Transgenerational Quality — Machines constructed to last decades and deliver consistent performance season after season.
Customer-Centric Approach — We partner directly with farmers, offering expert guidance, responsive support, and solutions tailored to real farm needs.
Commitment to Innovation — Continuous investment in smarter technologies that improve mixing speed, reduce maintenance, and increase productivity.
Signature Product Technology: V2 Feed Mixer Knife System
At the heart of LEO's TMR vertical feed mixers is the innovative V2 Feed Mixer Knife System — a modular, high-performance blade solution engineered for maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.
Replaceable Edges — Tungsten carbide coated for superior wear resistance. Only the worn section needs replacement, dramatically reducing cost and waste.
Inner & Outer Blades — Fully interchangeable for flexible configuration.
Durable Base Plate — High-strength alloy steel, ductile for flexibility and impact resistance. Designed for a single installation that stays on the auger for the life of the machine.
This system delivers faster bale processing, cleaner cuts, and lower operating costs compared to traditional knife designs.
