The LEO 20 Series doesn't cut corners on material contact surfaces. All models feature a stainless steel hopper, expeller, and expeller shroud. The 2010–2016 go further — adding full SS expeller throat, side walls, and front and rear panels for the most corrosion-resistant spreader in its class.
The stainless steel expeller shroud bottom surface eliminates material buildup, corrosion, and ensures smooth, frictionless discharge from auger to expeller — every single load, every single time.
The expeller throat — where material transitions from the auger system to the high-speed discharge expeller — is fully lined in stainless steel to prevent wear, corrosion, and clogging at the highest-impact zone.
Stainless steel side walls throughout the hopper mean no rust bleeding, no material sticking, and a dramatically longer service life compared to painted or galvanized alternatives that fail under repeated acid manure exposure.

Unlike competitors who only protect the tip, LEO hardfaces both the front striking edge and the side faces — the exact zones that experience the most abrasion and wear.
The LEO hammer tip is wider and square — creating a perpendicular impact plane at every point of rotation. Competitors' rounded hammer form loses efficiency as the angle of contact changes.
The fabricated geometry aggressively shreds long-fibered material mixed into manure — eliminating wrapping, clogs, and uneven discharge across the spread width.
Each LEO hammer covers 2.8" of expeller width vs the competitor's 2.6". Working slightly harder, but the larger 22" swing diameter provides more velocity at particle contact, producing a better spread pattern with less rotating weight.

Same door area, 3 fewer hammers. The LEO achieves the same or greater door opening area as competitors while using 3 fewer hammers — resulting in better balance, less rotating weight, and lower vibration.
Reverse auger flighting at door. An extra piece of reverse auger flighting in front of and behind the door creates pressure in the middle — forcing material out faster and more evenly.
22" expeller diameter — more tip velocity. A larger swing diameter produces more velocity at particle contact. Extra velocity, heavier hammer weight, and lower rotational speed creates a better-performing expeller with less vibration.
Dynamically balanced expeller. The LEO expeller is dynamically balanced — reducing vibration, extending bushing life, and maintaining consistent performance across the full service life of the machine.
Square hammer tip, competitor is rounded. The LEO hammer tip is wider and square — maintaining a perpendicular impact plane throughout its full arc. Competitor rounded hammers lose efficiency as contact angle shifts.
Same shaft on every model. LEO uses the same expeller shaft on all machines — 2.5" across the entire lineup — simplifying parts, reducing inventory, and proving the design is engineered right from the start.
The LEO 2010–2016 chain drive system is specified a full grade above what competitors call "heavy duty." Every chain position uses a stronger, larger pitch chain to handle the relentless demands of commercial daily spreading.

Both top and lower auger chains — the two hardest-working positions in the machine — run #120 pitch chain where competitors spec only #100. This means more metal, more strength, more life per chain.
All chains on the 2010–2016 run in a sealed oil bath enclosure — continuously lubricated, protected from contamination, and dramatically extending chain service life compared to exposed alternatives.
