Pay: $32.00– $42.50 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the operation and setup of our FMS Laser Cutting System. You will work under the direction of the Machining/Fabricating Supervisor and perform a variety of duties related to laser cutting and metal fabrication.
Responsibilities:
- Review dispatch reports and determine operating schedules for the FMS Laser Cutting System.
- Set up, operate, and maintain the FMS Laser Cutting equipment.
- Perform adjustments, cleaning, and calibrations for efficient laser cutting operations.
- Produce initial parts and inspect dimensions using various measuring tools.
- Set up and operate various fabricating machines (shears, press brakes, rollers, etc.) to produce parts according to specifications.
- May be required to instruct other operators on equipment setup and operation.
- Read and interpret drawings and operation sheets to determine production sequences.
- Verify material gauge and type, obtain necessary tooling, and ensure proper material handling.
- Conduct initial part inspections and ensure parts meet print specifications.
- Operate and inspect overhead hoists and sheet lifting devices.
- Assist maintenance with changing and adjusting shear blades.
- Perform grinding and deburring operations using various grinding equipment.
- Separate parts as required and stack completed pieces for further processing.
- Report production variances to supervisor or coordinator.
- Perform routine machine checks, lubrication, and report any malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience operating laser cutting equipment is a plus.
- Experience operating metal fabrication equipment (shears, press brakes, etc.) is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand/walk for 6-8 hours and sit for 1-4 hours during an 8-hour shift.
- Must be able to perform repetitive movements with hands and feet, including grasping, pushing, pulling, and operating foot controls.
- Must be able to bend frequently, occasionally twist, squat, and reach.
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs maximum) and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
Working Conditions:
- This position is located in a factory setting with noise and distractions.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, and protective gloves.
- Additional PPE may be required for specific tasks.
