Leonard Family Crest

LEO Family History

In the heartlands of Hennenman, South Africa, Nico Leonard found himself surrounded by endless fields that held not just crops, but dreams. In 1988, unable to be satisfied with the TMR Feed mixers on the market, he decided to manufacture his own (Voermenger) to turn those dreams into reality, starting a small manufacturing operation on his farm. Little did he know that his passion for agriculture and commitment to quality would grow into something far beyond the borders of his homeland.

Nico's company, LEO Agriculture (LEO Business), became synonymous with innovation and reliability. He built machines that revolutionized farming practices, and his commitment to quality earned him a stellar reputation among local farmers selling over a thousand machines in just a few years in Southern Africa. As the years passed, his son, JD Leonard, grew up watching his father's dedication and learning the ropes of the agricultural world.

In 2012, JD joined his father, not just as a family member, but as a partner in business. Together, they expanded LEO Agriculture's reach by establishing a factory in Monroe, Wisconsin, USA. The move marked the beginning of a global vision for the Leonard family. The father-and-son team believed in a simple yet powerful philosophy: putting quality and the needs of the customers first.

Unlike some companies that prioritized profit margins and quantity over quality, Nico and JD embraced a different approach. They understood that farmers worldwide faced unique challenges, and they were determined to provide solutions that addressed those needs. The Leonard’s were not just manufacturers; they were problem solvers.

As the years rolled by, JD's global vision for LEO Agriculture continued to take shape. Recently he partnered once again to establish a factory in South East Asia. The new facility brought the total to three global locations strategically placed to serve customers on a worldwide scale.

What set LEO Agriculture apart is not just the cutting-edge machinery they produce. It is their commitment to being easily accessible to their customers and providing transgenerational quality machinery.

The values instilled by Nico in the early years are now deeply embedded in JD's leadership style and the ever-growing partnership continues to thrive. Since the beginning Quality was non-negotiable, and the customer's satisfaction took precedence over everything else. The Leonard’s understand that a successful operation for their customers meant a success for LEO Agriculture.

LEO Agriculture not only provided state-of-the-art farming equipment but also stand as a testament to the power of family, values, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. This is why 80 percent of LEO customers are repeat customers. The fields of Hennenman, where it all began, might have been the starting point, but the world had become their canvas, painted with the success stories of customers across the globe touched by the Leonard family's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
